Weekend Link Love: “The Blogging” Edition

This weekend link love is brought to you by my favorite grammatically horrid line from the many spam comments that I get:  “The blogging is spreading its wings quickly.”  For some reason that makes me chuckle every time I think about it.

This week I recommend that you check out the following links.

Presented in the order that I came across them.

  1. Reach Financial Independence writes about investing in a coconut farm.
  2. Financial Samurai provides an example of investing with structured notes.
  3. The Frugal Path talks about whether they can afford a baby.
  4. Retire by 40 asks what if you always maxed out your 401k?
  5. The College Investor discusses getting professional financial advice.
  6. Krantcents discusses the importance of being a big thinker.
  7. Dividend Mantra writes about the three P’s – patience, persistence, and perseverance.
  8. The College Investor lists 7 ways not to blow out your trading account.
  9. Freedom 35 explains how interest rates affect home prices.
  10. Financially integrated describes some common investing mistakes and how to avoid them.

It reminds me of the song by Bette Midler called “Wind Beneath My Wings”. Thanks for the links, I am in good company.

  2. Liquid says:

Haha, some of those spam comments around the internet are hilarious. Thanks for the mention. Have a great weekend.

  3. MFIJ,

Thanks so much for the mention! I hope you’re enjoying your weekend. I had to work yesterday (it was beautiful yesterday) and now that I have Sunday off it’s raining. Gotta love it.

    Best wishes!

You’ve got the same luck I do. On the handful of nice days we’ve had, I’ve been stuck at work. I really need one to coincide with a weekend. I am overdue for a three hour walk in the park.

I can’t even understand most of the spam comments that I get. Sometimes i have to reread them a few times to work out whats actually being said….and i still fail!. Seem to have been getting a lot of SEO spam recently. Thanks for the mention.

I’ve gotten SEO spam. Some V1agra spam. Some payday loan spam. And some that is entirely unintelligible. I don’t know why, but so much of this spam just makes me laugh.

  5. Pauline says:

thanks for the mention! Spam comments are almost as good as weird google searches…

  6. Good list! Hope you had a great weekend!

  7. Reading spam comments can sometimes be funny. Once there was a comment explaining that a topic was “very difficult to understand.” and it was a Friday update post.
    Thanks for the mention.
