Weekend Link Love: New Market Highs edition

This weekend link love is brought to you by the crazy market run up.  Everything seems to be hitting new highs, which makes my job finding value that much harder.  Largely because market performance seems rather disconnected from how the actual economy is doing, or ho much a company is actually earning.  PE over 20?  Sorry, not interested.

First some blog news:

  • My post on selling put options with a margin account was mentioned by Hello Suckers.

Links!

This week I recommend that you check out the following links.  Presented in the order that I came across them.

  1. Good Financial Cents discusses setting up custodial accounts for your kids, and even compares them to 529s.
  2. Passive Income Pursuit continues his series on valuation models, this time explaining the dividend discount model.
  3. The Dividend Guy talks about four key ratios that you need to know in order to value a dividend stock.
  4. Nelson subs in for Andrew at 101 Centavos and writes what should be obvious but sadly isn’t – taking your job seriously because it’s all that stands between you and your parent’s basement.
  5. The College Investor provides us with a great introduction to Gold and Silver Streaming companies.  No matter what you’re investment style is, it’s always good to learn more.
  6. Financial Samurai discusses getting the right amount of homeowners insurance.

Stock Analyses:

  1. Dividend Monk provides a valuation of Oneok (OKE), the common stock version of Oneok LP (OKS).
